If you’re in the market for an affordable and compact drone you can take selfies with, you might want to check out the Selfly. It’s a small, foldable drone that attaches to an accompanying smartphone case and can easily fit in your pocket.

It is easy to use as all you have to do is pop it out of the case, fold out its propellers, and throw it up in the air. The Selfly will automatically start hovering and will stay in one place unless you move it via the smartphone app by either tilting the device or by using the on-screen buttons. When in the air, the drone can take pictures with its 8MP camera and shoot 1080p video at 30 frames per second.

Update March 14: As it turns out, you, and people like you, really like this project, Selfly has surpassed $1 million in support on their Indiegogo campaign. The campaign is concluded now, far surpassing its original $125,000 goal. Time to sit back and wait for June deliveries to begin.

The device is only 9mm thick and therefore has a small 650mAh battery that offers only five minutes of flight time on a full charge. The universal flip cover that holds the drone can fit on all smartphones with the screen size between 4 and 6 inches. However, there are also dedicated cases for a quite a few devices including the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, and the Nexus 6.

The team behind the Selfly is trying to get the drone off the ground with the help of crowdfunding. They have launched a Kickstarter campaign and have already surpassed their goal of raising $125,000. The campaign is still running so you are still able to back it. By pledging $89 (early bird offer) you can get your hands on a Selfly drone, which starts shipping in June. Its normal retail price is expected to be $140.
