Ready to buy a drone? Now may be the time! Once a year Amazon likes to host a little sale, the result is one of the largest shopping days of the year. Amazon’s Prime Day is July 15th-16th this year, and there are many deals to be found. We couldn’t possibly list all of the drones on sale this year, but we’re happy to share some of our favorite deals.

We’ll update this list frequently as deals unfold, stay tuned. The sale officially begins July 15th at 12pm PST and runs through the 16th, but some of the deals are already active.

Don’t forget, you must be an Amazon Prime subscriber to take advantage of these deals, there are options for sharing accounts, but if you need a Prime membership of your own, it’s normally $119 per year. Of course, there may be a Prime Day deal for that too!

DJI drones

Before we dive in, there is a dedicated portal for the drones that DJI themselves have up for sale. The list includes the Mavic Air and lots of their camera systems. We’re fans of the Osmo Pocket and Osmo Action, we’d really like a Ronin-S while we’re at it, but they have few discounts slated for actual drones this year.

Other drones

As we write this, several days before the sale actually begins, we see that the majority of deals are for toy-class machines. This is ideal for beginner pilots, save some cash on your first drone as you learn to fly. You can always upgrade to a bigger, faster and more capable machine later.
